Kira Lawler is an American photographer and visual storyteller based in the Midwest. Her artistic practice is motivated by her interests in documentation, history, time, and geography. Her work has been shown in St. Louis and at the George Caleb Bingham Gallery in Columbia, Missouri.

Her work is intensely influenced by her upbringing in the Midwest. She draws connections between the landscape and transitions in her own life. Her photographs act as visual landmarks in her memory. Drawing in themes of identity, religion, and grief, her work documents and tells the story of her life and the lives of those around her. There exists an emotional drive behind her photographs, as an attempt to convey experiences, sentiments, and moments in a visual way.
